the saving in CO2

Calculate the CO2 emissions saved by replacing of an incandescent light bulb with a CFL, it is very simple. A 60 Watt lamp is commonly replaced by a 11 Watt CFL: 49W savings then you have to multiply by the hours of lamp usage.
Typically, a lamp is used for 1000 hours per year (three hours).
We have thus 49 kWh of electricity saved in one year.
Considering that the average specific emissions of CO2, the system of electricity generation in Italy are currently about 0.53 KgCO2/KWh, there are about 26 pounds of CO2 saved each year for each incandescent lamp that is 60Watt replaced.
